Subdomain X of Kinase Domain of Protein Kinase A

Subdomain X has the structure of a small alpha helix, that corresponds to alpha helix G in PKA. The alpha helix sits at the base of the large lobe, toward the outside. The sequence from this region is not well conserved, and its function is not known. Some other members of the protein kinase superfamily have some large insertions and deletions between subdomains X and XI whose function is not known
